Not cutting through the mix.

I'm running a epifani UL2 210 & 115 and I'm having trouble with notes on my D & G string cutting througn the mix. Bass has Nord 2 band pre and Nord single coil pu's. Is this just an eq issue? If so is it lo mid?

Not much info to go by. What bass are we talking about here? It's only an issue with the D & G strings? E & A are both fine?

E and A seem to ring clear but I lose low end and volume when going to second position on the D and G .

Bass has a massacar ebony top with on ash body.

I'm really looking for what pickups you've got. Both the shape and the brand/model would be nice. I ask because if it's a P or a MM that is a common problem.

Have you tried raising the pickup(s) on that side?

Generally the UL series is a bit scooped in the hi mids. I would try to add that with the EQ of your amp in a few different frequencies (one at a time) and see how that works. I encountered the same thing with a UL212, but it seemed to take the EQ well. Maybe tweak the attenuator a bit too.
