NS/Stick Arrived Today!

I hate to type this, but OMG!!! Everything I expected and more. My God the low end and sustain on this thing is outrageous! Haven't even tried it with effects yet - the upper register strings just ring out that Elephant Talk tone clean!

A bit intimidating (and what a wide neck for a dedicated four stringer!) and I have along way to go to get the fully independent hand thing going, but this is the best thing I've bought in ages.

I knew someone was going to say that! Gotta find the camera.

It's the last one on this page, now marked sold. They have some good deals on already made instruments on that page - various Sticks and another NS/Stick.

I had one about 3 or 4 years ago. The new ones look a bit different. Mine was used when I got it. The sound of the bass on these is incredible, but tapping was not my thing so I sold it. Great instrument though! Enjoy!

Another one - this time on a half fretted / half fretless NS/Stick. Don Schiff has been awesome at answering questions for me - great player and better yet a great guy!

That's equally cool and freaky. The old me used to write that playing style off as "not bass playing" but then I grew up and realized it was because I can't do it.

Believe me, I said to a friend last night, "I'm sitting here playing with my Stick" and it sounded horrid as soon as it came out of my mouth!

And believe me, I am nowhere close to being Don Schiff on this thing yet! But have managed to pull off a few neat counterpart things. This will take some time.

THIS is what I imagine a monster would look like, if Frankenstein were a guitar player.

In addition to having the greatest touch Bob Culbertson has some good lessons up on his youtube channel. I like the "sit down" stick he uses across his lap.

Nice! Will you play in standard tuning or something else?

It came tuned in 4ths from a low B to a high Bb, and I'll probably keep it that way. Some people detune the top strings by a half step like standard guitar tuning.

Yea, I heared that more.. So how is it for the playing so far? Easy neck feel and playability?
