The "Official" Black 'n' Maple Basses Owners Club thread (Part 2) as per paul's request, we are closing threads once they surpass a thousand posts, and opening new ones. this is a continuation of the thread linked below. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/official-black-n-maple-basses-owners-club-thread-361448/ |
Woot! A reason to post my B' N' M' beast again! Reintroducing, Black Betty! ![]() |
this is a repost in case it got overlooked with the original thread bein' closed. I want opinions. What do you think looks better? Black dots or Pearl blocks. I really like both, but I think the back dots give it more a vintage 50s look. What do you think? ![]() compared to... ![]() I was plannin' on orderin a SX PBass in a 3 tone sunburst for the body only. I could always get the SPB57 3TS and use the maple/black dots neck for this bass and turn around and sale the blocked neck. I don't know??? Any thoughts? Thanks, Steve |
Black dots look better, IMO. Either way, you got a sexy axe! Lol, the post above yours shows why I like black dots! |
BAMBOC Part 2 The Beat Goes On! |
I just noticed Black Betty up top. I decided to call mine Bettie as well, accept spelled different. I actually had a "Bettie" decal made from best-decals. I don't know how good it's gonna look. I decided to call her Bettie Pearl (since I got the pearl knobs and block inlays). I'm just tryin' to talk myself into keepin' this neck on because it feels pretty good. Steve |

Pick me! 1 Attachment(s) I own a 99 am std jazz, stock. Great sounding bass. |
Woot woot, part two. :) I'm pretty sure the BnM club is the only "colour based" club on TB to get this far. Black and maple reigns supreme!!! :bassist: Continuing from the old thread; Quote:

------------------------------------------------------------- Seeing as it's a new thread I feel like posting my black n maple beast. :) By the way, her name is Angela, named after this very nice lady, Angela Gossow. Listen to some of her vocals and you'll realise why I named something as aggressive as a Stingray after her. ;) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Black and maple, you say? Hereīs my fingerprint magnet: ![]() Itīs a Korean made Tribute and plays like butter. Great piece of gear, especially for the money. |
SRT80, with the black dots the looks even better! |

I sell them for about the same price as Nash, but they are all hand-crafted instead of just being assembled. |

If they had been around last year (in Metro form), I'd have probably snapped one up, instead of my 5 string version. Much to my shame, I really haven't been able to adapt to that "low B" thing and so my "Modern 5" is currently on ebay (auction ends in 45 mins :(). Anyway, I just stopped by (on one of my increasingly rare :scowl:) visits to TB, to say "Congratulations" :hyper: to everyone for keeping this thread going for so long and perhaps more importantly, for keeping things so "civil" :D. There's been no nastiness at all, since the first page, when somebody called me "a freak" because I didn't have a white pickguard on my P Bass :hmm: (wonder where he is now :p). As ever, props to our ROON for keeping the B'n'M torch burning ;). |
It's not a Modern 4. It's a Sadowsky Standard bass with the soapbars (instead of humcancelling J pups) in J bass locations. The pups are not in the 'Modern locations' and the bass does not have 24 frets. . |
