Rogue luthier employed at Knooren Handcrafted bass guitars | | Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: The Netherlands | | I really liked the way My Fenderbird turned out But given the fact that I had to re-rout the pickup cavity had left it with a not so very nicely filled gap and I needed something to cover that up and also because I thought that it looked a little empty.
It needed a tweak, something to truly make this bass' looks come alive... 
This pickguard does the job nicely, I always loved the Black-on-black look so it's a double win.

Here's a re-post of my Valenti: 
Came to me with Nord Big Singles and an audere preamp; which I think sounded terrible together.
Just got done installing Nordstrand's new preamp in there.
No surprise that they pair very well, and the Nord preamp is a great unit. No diff in tone b/t passive and active-whenh active is set flat. And I like having a passive tone-which, by the way, works in active mode.
