It's in Switzerland now... If you know the doctor too... He used to say that's "The finest Precision Bass" in the world.
He keeps telling that after all the time since he sold it to me !!!! | OK, excuse me, but there's a big difference between "never played" and "never gigged" . Anyway, as I said, it's one of the most amazing basses that I've seen for sale in recent years. Congratulations!
Normally, I wouldn't try and de-rail a thread like this, but I'm just getting excited about this one going into "Part 3" .
Only another 36 posts to go !

Georges Gruhn wouldn't have signed this appraisal if what you say was true..... | Hey dude! Calm down, already .
I stated an opinion and posted your own picture to show what my opinion was based on. Anyone here can look at the same picture and make up there own mind - I'm not trying to slander you .
You said in your other thread that, quote; " It has never been played and still has its original set of strings wich were settled on the Fender factory".
Not wishing to contradict you on that point, but seeing that the frets appeared to be flattened off on the tops, I suggested that maybe they had been stoned . Now, you tell me that it has been played and so I would agree with the appraisal, that it shows "light playing wear".
I was actually trying to be polite and save you any embarresment, whilst at the same time saying what an excellent bass you have. Seems you didn't understand that.
Anyway, relax, you've got a George Gruhn's certificate (not to mention an original 1965 P Bass), so you shlould be happy .

No one's angry here.. just exchanging advices... There's something lost in translation.. "Gigged" doesn't exist in the other languages I speak... the only possible translation would be: "Tocar" in spanish, "Jouer" in French, "Suonare" in italian or "Spielen" in German... All these languages use the same word to say "To PLay" and "To Gig"... So.. no possible translation of "Gig" without giving a long explanation.
On the other hand... You must admit that my bass coudn't have been used as a normal musical instrument... I've seen new basses on display in music shops, who looked more "played" than mine... We are talking about a 44 years old instrument... Show me another one in a better condition than mine... I'm really curious to see one !!!! The Strings are original... The apreaissal reads "Extreme Little Wear" and not "light playing wear" and that makes a BIG difference in my opinion...
Where the word "played" ends, and where the "word" gigged" starts on a musical instrument... What would say Stradivari if he could see one of his violins at the present time ??? We would fill a lot of threads with everyone's different pieces of advise !!!! And without finding agreement at the end..
I'm affraid
Sorry for my poor English.. hope you understand !!!!

Sorry for my poor English.. hope you understand !!!! | Yes, of course I understand - I too live in foreign country (Germany) and have a lot of trouble with the native language (my German is nowhere as good as your English ).
But, just to clarify, if a seller was to claim that an instrument had "never been played" (in English) would literally mean that it was fresh off the production line and that no human being had ever plucked the strings, apart from at the factory. That's why I felt that I had to comment on that claim of yours, because it didn't seem correct.
Anyway, I'm glad that we understand each other . Actually, I used to have a modern day "copy" of your bass (a Fender US vintage reissue) and really loved that colourscheme (nearly as much as Black 'n' Maple ). Here's a picture, which ROON is free to delete as his discretion, as it doesn't really belong here ... Apologies to all Black 'n' Maple devotees - normal service will be resumed, forthwith ...

Change is in the air (again!), and the BnM Club is entering a new era. I've had lots of fun taking care of our nice little club, handing out numbers, and seeing all your beautiful basses! But I'm afraid it's time for me to pass the torch on. As I'm sure you've all noticed, I don't log onto TB much anymore. As much as I love this club, it's members, and it's basses (soppy, I know ), I have lost interest in the rest on TB. That combined with studies taking up a lot of my time now means I don't come here much anymore. For the last few months I haven't been able to give this club the attention it deserves and needs, and believe me I feel quite bad about it!
So without further adieu, please welcome your new head honcho; Mr. Darkstrike! I know he'll give you guys all the love and attention that you deserve.
Treat him nicely folks, and I'll pop in every now and then to check out the great pics this club always has.
Thanks guys,
Former 'El Presidente', ROON
And my apologies to the following guys who didn't get their numbers as quickly as they should've; Quote:

Former 'El Presidente', ROON | I didn't know that you were thinking of leaving, young ROON . Still, I understand your reasons.
I'd just like to publicly say what a great (online) friend you've been to me and thank you again for taking over the reigns of the ...
... after I abandoned it, about 700 post in .
Good luck with your studies, Josh .
All the best,

I know that you're a long time devotee of this club and am really pleased to see so many other members here too, who were regulars in the original (Part 1) thread . I'd name names, but then I run the risk of missing one out and offending someone, so I'd better not .
On a general note, before I disappear back into my shell . I'd just like to say this:
Since "retiring" from bass playing and taking up photography as a new hobby ( *yawn*), I've been spending lots of time on different photography forums and you know what ... none of them have anywhere near the same friendly, respectful and fun atmosphere that TalkBass has .
I really enjoy coming back here, especially to this thread, just to see that there are some decent people left in Cyberspace and that they're not all Trolls .
Peace, my brothers and sisters and good luck with answering all of those PMs, Darkstrike !

It's gonna be odd running here, as I mainly play blue basses now....
You're right, this place is full of decent friendly people, heck, if it wasn't for this thread, I'd never have built my B'N'M!
Funny coincidence, I've stared developing an interest in photography too.
