| | | just got my first conrad bass! Hey all, just recently traded for this bass, and though it is the first day, I'm really happy with it already.
The pickups sound great plugged in. I'm now working on getting it set up well, I think a minor neck angle adjustment will do.
It seems like a previous owner at some point changed the tailpiece, I have no idea what the origin of the one on it now is.
Also, the bridge seems to be a bit incomplete, though functional, it doesn't have the chrome cover.
Also it seems to be missing a pickguard.
And one of the tuners is not quite original. In fact, I think someone may have tried to paint the tuners black, I'm guessing they were originally chrome.
Any of this seem halfway correct?

| | | | Wow my very first bass looked very similar, I was playing at a party( what a party) in 1975 and during a break I leaned it against a column well it tipped over and headstock snapped off, I was out of show biz till I could replace it, I jumped over to guitar but scored a Gibson EBO in 1985 , since then I became primarily a bassist. As a bassist who sings I found more work and was getting into much better bands.Doesnt say much for my guitar playing though. I was in a very big band from 1998 to 2003 and the guitar our guy used for some songs was a 12 string Conrad, I believe they are lumped in with Teisco, cool bass |

| | | | I'm thinking about getting a replacement tailpiece and bridge for it. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with changing these parts out on one of these basses?
Also, I may replace the nut, it seems a bit high and could probably be lowered/replaced
Lastly, does anyone know of a fitting hardshell case for these things?
Thanks, I'll post some more pictures when I make some changes |

Great sounding bass, but not a ton of tonal variety compared to a Jazz. I haven't had any luck finding a hard case to fit it. I am using an acoustic bass gig bag at the moment.

| | | | Conrad on the way My first Conrad bass is on it's way!
No idea what model it is… it was described as a Conrad Jazz bass, but I haven't found much info yet. It's a project bass, so in the end it won't resemble the original beyond it's basic shape.

Mine has a replacement pu but plays and sounds great! As crude as it is it achieves 3-point tuning and for a single-coil it's very quiet! Really fun instrument! |
