Hit me with a number! | Dude I didnt think anyone else owned a bbn4iii. Right on you man.
Im a decent bassist (I would like to think) with a cmd 121p and ny121 and an old steinberger, a new am std jazz and a 70's fender. |

| | | | And a happy new year to all you other crappy bass players. It looks like I have to expand my crappiness into new territory with an acoustic bass (stand up style, not guitar style). Spreading the joy of expensive crappiness is a calling.

| | | | whoa, that's weird. bass hole still hasn't signed in since 1-6-11. can i have a number? i spend more time browsing than i do practicing. i have a 30$ gig bag, acoustic b20 combo-150$ and a fender p-bass-200$.
i don't know if that competes against the 20g basses and stuff, but i think basses can get pricy.

2 basses totaling over 6K and a rack that would be over 2K to replicate with all new gear!
My cab is a beat up old GK GoldLine 410 though. But she works and I clearly have more important things to spend money on than a new cab!
Oh...yeah...I'm pretty bad at bass. Compared to the "guitarist who's bro's band needed a bassist so he went out and bought an Ibanez" guys, yeah, I'm good, but compared to the other guys who identify themselves as bassists I believe myself to be passable. Not good to say the least

I'm working hard, but Jaco wasn't built in a day. Since I started playing I've bought nine basses. Currently I'm down to two, both American made, a G&L SB-1 and a Tobias Growler. I'm in a college town, so every time I play out, I get schooled by a youngster in the next band who wields a Squier or an entry-level Ibanez. I would trade my basses for either their skill or their youth if I could, but since I can't, I'll keep working on my chops on increasingly-expensive equipment. |

I suck! I was OK 30 years ago, let it go for a long time, and got back in a few years ago.
I'm slowly working on becoming more knowledgable and skillful with respect to theory, improvisation, and technique but you know what they say about polishing poo...
What's important is that I have great gear and I have fun with it!

I've now got 2 Peavy Foundations, a MIK Squire P, an Epi. T-Bird,and a shall remain nameless long scale cheapie but now that I decided that I like the way the P feels I just put an American Fender P bass on layaway @ GC. So now I 'm looking to upgrade From an ill advised combo purchase to an amp. cab or two. I'm not a bad bass player, I don't even qualify as a bass player. |

What's important is that I have great gear and I have fun with it! | I'm so with you. I used to play decent in the days of hair and metal, but knew nothing about how these things worked. Now I strive for mediocrity but can wire new pickups and do a decent set up job.
I hear by request a number and to stand among you all. Always in the process of acquiring ever better gear.
