Very booty-filled, I presume? |

Hey Nala ...
Sweet score + you're getting a fretless any day now ... it's raining Elricks your way. Plus I see that you finally got the Hard Case you've been looking for ... bonus!
IMO ... good call on the Elrick/Warwick trade. You might be a smidge upside down ... BUT it looks to be well worth the pounce ... who knows how long the Dolphin would take to off-load anyway, then you gotta add in any PayPal fees, and all that stuff that comes with the deals.
Congrats! |

I'm on my iPhone way out in the backwoods of Arkansas, and the signal is just crazy weak. I think your number should be 33, I always take the last one, so mine is always the next in line.

... currently digging on this one in the classifieds http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showth...t=#post8999349
Shortly I'll be turning my Cort/Elrick RB5 in to a RB5F; to help my GAS, so that I can save up the scratch for an actual Elrick fretless 5'ver.
... a thought ... has anyone turned a fretted Elrick into a fretless? ... IF so, what did you do about the "Zero-Fret" ? ... also, is this something Rob would do, or is he all about new builds more-so than customizing "pre-owned" ones?

| | Rigorously Tested by Angry Laboratory Robots | | Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: NC. Residential Tourist | | After reading Bass Player mag's issue about Fender Jazz bass' anniversary (and the latest Spring slew of Alleva Coppolo J's hitting the classifieds) ... I'm now totally GAS-N for a NJS5. (found a home with Elrick, and want to try and keep it that way)
... does anyone have both a NJS5 and a Classic/Evo 5'ver that they can compare the overall feel of the necks (a bit of an A/B, if you will). Experience with both would work too. (I have no ability to compare them myself, as no one carries them around me, and can't really make a long road trip to just do a A/B ... just because GAS has struck )
Thanks! |

I can get the action quite a bit lower now that he's done all the work on it. I talked to him about sticking another pickup in it but he was very much against the idea, saying that the bass sounded sweet as it is and that whoever built it really thought about the exact placement of that pickup and stuck it in THE perfect spot. So now I'm having second thoughts about it. It does sound great as-is, especially playing rock. Very aggressive and growly. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
