Nice Sting! How do you like it? I'm loving mine. Muted it with some foam and put some flats on it.

Thanks

It's nice. Soft touch, responsive. Very easy to play. If it had a maple fretless board it would be bass nirvana.
I'm discovering I can dig in or slap on my flats still although the obvious best creamiest is to apply it Motown style.

+1. Chromes have a very distinctive sound when slapped. I prefer it to the sound of rounds slapped.

I have labella dtb at the moment. Try Chromes on a fretless board. My favorite combination.

I feel that Precisions sound good in quiet music--subdued & pretty-- but can also be a tugboat when you need it to. I must be getting old I don't like sound wars on stage or playing with vol at "11."

My 77/78

I love this bass. Strung with Chromes, it always sounds and feels like home. Someday I'll take it apart to determine its birthday...

Cracked the PG @ down by the jack a couple years ago. Debating whether to leave it as is or tort it out.

Number please?

I've read this is a pretty common problem; it happened to my '75, too. I would leave it on (I wish I hadn't changed mine) to keep it original. You just have to be a little more careful when removing the cable.

Looks great as is, but tort would definitely look sharp.

Good advice, I've been leaning that way anyhow.

PG actually cracked when the bass was on a stand in a tight orchestra pit. Someone or something (probably me) bumped into the plug and the leverage cracked the guard.

That's vintage mojo, right?

Vintage mojo...keep the original guard, but definitely put tort on there. Mojo is not mojo anymore when it makes the bass less reliable or functional. :-)

Can i get a number i currently owns 2 p's
First is a 2011 Mim Fender P-bass modded with BA, vintage fender Pup

Second one is a Mike Dirnt Signature model all stock
picked up used. definitely the heaviest basse i ever tried
and the neck is abit thick other than i love the pick sound i can get from it. since i tend favor plectrum over fingerstyle
