As fas as I know, the 2008 or newer has the glossy fingerboard and headstock. Hope it helps. |

Blue '08 MIM P Bass
I want to change it a bit from stock though. Any ideas on how to make it look better?

Just got her on Monday.
And if I've ever played a bass that "played like butter" it's this one.
I had a little mishap trying to install straplocks on it. Chipped a good bit of the finish off. I was kind of upset with myself.
I used some cement glue on the pieces and now you can't even tell at a distance. If you look closely at it though...
Well, it's shameful really.
I love this bass and I now hate straplocks.

(As compared to a J bass at 1.5" and a standard P at 1.65")
I picked this up from playing solely a Jazz bass for a long, long time. Quite a difference!

I do not like the big unnessecary plack of white plastic that is the pg, though. So I cut it to a more civilized size.
I'm saving up for a replacement bridge with through body, but four saddles for more accurate intonation. Original Fender but a bit costly thing - well, to me that is.
Also, but there is less need for that, I'd like a BassXtender on it. And purely for cosmetic reasons: Lollipop tuners.
OOPS! Almost forgot! I'm going to turn the burst body into a black one!
Can I have a number please?
