Remember one thing: There will always be someone a little bit better than you and someone not as good as you. Play the bass and enjoy what you are doing. Oh by the way, really nice basses.

Keep practicing and just enjoy yourself. The chops will come with practice. |

| | | | So much beautiful P-Basses in this thread! I love mine so much, but there are lots of fine basses shown here like refinished Basses, new and old ones.
So I have to congratulate all the owners of one of those fine basses.

Originally Posted by sspear Ok for you playas who have round wounds on your p bass what is your preferred eq setting? | Ok, I use a 72 P, playing through a Sans Amp RBI21 into a QSC power amp (can't remember the model number, but it is about 12 years old). Ernie Ball Super Slinky 105's theough an Avatar B4X10 and a homemade 2X15 with Eminence speakers
The EQ on the Sans Amp are like dials , not faders, so I have them:
low - 12:00
mids - 9:00
highs - 1:00
I almost always pull down my mids because all 3 of my basses speak very brightly. I also have an 80 MIM Jazz and an 86 Charvel 3B
I never use a pick and my main influences are Steve Harris and Geddy Lee so not too much slapping and that kind of stuff - though I am not opposed to it, it has just never fit the style of music my band plays.

Tone, punch, chunk, and bottom. Insane when paired with another Dietz 15". |

We are going to do more hard/heavy stuff this spring, and I think I will need the classic tone for that. I will keep you all updated.
