Looks like Fender changed the names ('57 to '58, '62 to '63), install the pup and bridge covers at the factory, stopped tinting the necks, and added $550.00 to the street price. AVRI P's at MF .

I currently have 2 MIM P basses.
An older one (not sure of year, but will get around to checking online via serial #) with pickup and bridge from my 1973 P bass (which I desperately wish I still had) & a Duncan Quarterpounder J pickup in bridge position
and a 2012 Deluxe which I got a few months ago.
