Numbers are available, I suppose, but the guy who was handing them out seems to have disappeared.

Early 60s

Here is a 6070 from the early sixties. Came with a peg for playing in an upright position. Looks better than it plays. There are picks of John Entwistle playing one of these in the early Who days. Didn't last long. Looks great in my living room.

Thanks for taking charge, ih8. Im psyched to be a part of this club. So since I got my G5123b it has taken over as my main go-to axe.

I'm shopping for a gig-rig now for it. Any suggestions? I like tubes. Gonna try out the Randy Jackson Mark Bass head this week, I'll let you guys know how they pair up.

I never hesitate to recommend the Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 combo with a 12" speaker. That's what I use - plenty of bottom, tube preamp so you can get some tube OD if desired. 36 pounds and easy to transport.

Pretty! Is that Babicz bridge stock? It looks good - but Gretsch has been using the bent metal bridge up to now.

No, I took that bent metal bridge off and installed the Babicz bridge myself. It's a perfect fit and looks like it belongs on the guitar. Replaced the tuning machines too with mini-Gotohs.

It may be more than the bass is worth, but this is my only one for now, so I wanted it to work well.

#43 goes to Super Iridium!

That is a sweet looking bass. I saw one that same color on eBay recently, and it was the first one I'd ever seen in that color (they usually are black, black burst or tobacco burst). I damn near bought it I thought it was so cool. Congrats!

When you say full volume cut's tone out of the loop, is it the master volume at full, or individual pickup volumes, both? Looked everywhere for more info on this to no avail.

Thanks, I did get this on eBay recently - it's the only one I've seen like it.
And I got idea about adding the Babicz bridge and nylon wrap strings after watching your video on YouTube. You got a great sound from that bass, and so I figured this one would work for me too.

>>When you say full volume cut's tone out of the loop, is it the master volume at full, or individual pickup volumes, both

All of the above.

Each volume cuts out the tone at the max setting.

*Can't re-test it because mine is is the shop having the pinned bridge un-pinned. I put on thicker strings than 'normal' and it messed with the intonation. I then discoverd that the bridge would not move. I was sure that it was supposed to be a floating bridge, so that is what I will have.

I tested it out on my other Gretsch and it is noticable once you look for it.

BP.
