Brilliant idea for a club!

May I join, please? This is a club I can truly be PROUD to be a member of!

Here's a link to my Blazer (serial # begins with 81, does that mean it's an '81?). Should be all original except for aftermarket knobs (came without knobs so I added these ones). Sadly, no case (yet!):

Yes, it does. Here's how to read Ibanez Blazer serial numbers (from some thread in "Ibanez Collectors World"), which applies to all Blazer models (and all basses made between 1975 to 1983):

Example serial number C800358
C=March So A=Jan M=Dec
80 = 1980 year of build
0358= 358th bass built in that month.

Since we're talking about Blazer resources, here's a Catalogue page from 1981:

Here's my 1981 BL800-TV.

My dad bought it new, I still have the original warranty card and Ibanez guitar care booklet.

Beautiful bass! Excellent.

BTW, not to get off topic at all, but what are the differences between the Blazer series and the Roadstar series. Roadstar basses appear to be the same as Blazers, but I believe solid finishes were not ash (not sure).

If anyone knows, please advise.

Thanks.

Can I Join? One small problem... I have a Roadstar

Here is my baby a 1983 Roadstar RB650. I recently bought this bass from another TB member. I just had it professionally setup with some DR Sunbeams. The pickups in this beast are super loud for a passive bass. I couldn't part with this bass, it's that nice.

Hey Ferk. Thanks a lot. Believe it or not, my question was actually about Blazers vs. RoadstArs and your catalog shot includes Blazers vs. RoadstErs (sorry about the caps). Do you think you might have the catalog page for RoadstArs?

However, I am also completely thrilled at your posting of RoadstErs - most uber-welcome because Roadsters are so damned cool not to mention:

Has anyone seen the youtube clip with Jean-Luc Ponty "Egocentric Molecules" from Brazil circa '81. Yes, there's a Roadster bass solo......and it is KICK-AXE! What else do you need in life! I'm good!

Just watched it. Randy Jackson: NICE! Thanks for mentioning that. I've never heard of Jean-Luc Ponty and I quite enjoyed the performance...

May I humbly request a number for this (so far) highly exclusive club? I am the proud owner of a roadstar II RB850, has been recently upgraded with a d-tuner, and I'll upload some new pics tonight/tomorrow when at PC instead of tiny phone.....cheers

Here's a updated photo. I just put some Chromes on this beast. They sound great on this bass. Love my RB650

Count me in! And count in my old faithful Roadstar RB II 850 in Polar White, my first "good" bass back in 1985. Almost 30 yrs together, through good and bad.
I'll post some pics as soon as possible.
