Thought it was a terrible shame when you hung things up, but it's great to know your brilliant designs will live on.
Can't wait to see the above come to life.
When do you think the details will be announced?

I'll leave it to the builder to reveal himself and details when he wants. I guess we're speaking about a couple of weeks..

It's at Music-Go-Round and they're asking $1500. http://musicgoround.com/detail.aspx?id=1168968 |

He's building JPs now, and I think I still have the CAD file of the string layout, which I'd be happy to contribute if JP has lost it. The bridge was a custom Hipshot, and I wouldn't be surprised if they still have the machine code for making it. If so the bridge might even be cheaper than when JP had it done.

Not sure if he has done a 12 string at this point or not. | Thanks for the advice, actually I am a lutherie student, and I have a mid term project of building fretted and fretless 12string basses for myself, but will take a while since i can do it...
I´m so frustrated, when Jean had the bass on sale, I wasn´t aware until like 3 months later, he still had the bass, but I was a bit short of money...and I live in Costa Rica, and Jean wasn´t shipping the bass, so I had to get a flight to pick up the bass... So within a month I sold my main bass and got the money, but when I reach Jean again, the deal was pending with another person, and the next day was paid.... So sad to have that one bass you always wanted, so close, at a excellent price (even sold my bass and got the full amount), and knowing you missed for maybe a couple of days...It kills me...
I hope that the bass is being played and not just sitting in the corner, I know a 12 string bass is not something everyone will like to play because of it´s dimensions, so if someone knows the new owner, and at some time down the road he wants to sell it, please let me know... Thanks everyone! |

You going for a short(er) scale 6 string again?
It was your work that helped to convince me to try a 33" 6 string, I've never looked back, got 33" 4, 5 and 6 strings now
