I'm very interested in this Bass actually (I love the colors it comes in too), but I still can't get over the rosewood board /w no matching headstock.
I usually like maple too but I love Mark's bass neck

Hey guys,

I'll have my Hoppus bass in my hands around this time on Wednesday. Can't wait for the UPS guy to deliver it. I currently own a Schecter Custom-4, Schecter Studio-4 fretless, and Squier Matt Freeman Precision... so this one should fit nicely with the others. I'll post pictures of the new delivery in a couple days!

Here's mine! It has LaBella Original 54s on it. I'm not a 100% sure it won't warp it, but damn it sounds good!

I think it is a 2001 model.

Okay, she arrived today. Plays great, had to lower the action a good amount. It came from the factory sky high!

Not sure if it'll be my new primary bass since I like my Squier Matt Freeman so much. I'll have to play it some more.

Sorry for the blurry shot, it's from my phone.

Here's my completely modified MHPB

Changed pickups to Fender Vintage Precision
Cloth wire, Fender 250k pots
Orange drop .047 cap
Added 62 Jazz Bass Control Plate
Added Jazz Bass knobs
Cut original pickguard control plate area
Changed bridge to Fender HMV string through Bass Bridge
Added P Bass Bridge cover
Tuner Machines changed to Hipshot
Neck plate Fender "F" plate
Added Tugbar
Strings DAddario ECB81 Flatwound
Mark Hoppus is not on my long list of favorite bass players (sorry Hoppus fans), but he has a cool looking bass, which looks even better now with the mods.

My Hoppus Bass

Hey, I'll take a number! This is my Hoppus bass. Made in 2012. I love it and he is the reason I started playing bass, as well as my favourite bass player. So in a sense it is my dream bass....all of my other basses are modelled after this one in some way or another

I'd love one of these things. The lack of a tone knob does concern me, though that must mean the tone is absolutely kickass for pop-punk, right?

Here's a photo of my basses including my 2004 surf green Hoppus bass.

It's a nice bass, doesn't get much played though, because i like the jazz sound more than the sound of a precision. Why do I have it? Because he's the reason why I started playing bass in the first place

Concerning the poll: I like the plaid one he used in the early 2000s and the grafitti yellow one from the AOL-Sessions

Are the new US standard bridges a direct drop in for the current Hoppus bridge? Also, what would be a direct drop in tuner replacement? Seriously considering one of these bad boys.

Yes and not sure.

I swapped the bridge on mine for a pre 2008 MIA deluxe bridge. So long as it has the three screw mount and string through option, you will be fine.

BTW, I sold my Surf Green Hoppus and Delonge set earlier this week. I still have two Hoppus bodies left and I REALLY want to get them both refinished. Hopefully that can come in the next month or so....

It's absolutely spot on. The SPB3 pickup and a Bass Driver DI box will get you all of that genre's biggest tones. Blink, NFG, Four Year Strong, Fall Out Boy......even bands like Death Cab for Cutie can get played with this bass. It's incredible....

I would get one, but for the simple fact it has the name Hoppus on it.

Hmmm I know, it's all the small things...like other bassists will know I play a hoppus, and I'm too shallow to rise above it and appreciate it for the bass that it is...
