| | Registered User | | | | | The Official Medium Scale Bass Club There's been a lot of talk about short scale basses, people arguing if 31" or 32" should be considered short scale or medium scale. Lots of guys ask if their 32" can be accepted at the short scale threads. Therefore I am starting "The Official Medium Scale Bass Club" thread.
This thread is devoted to basses that go from 31" to 33".
32" being Medium-Medium, hehe
So if your bass is 30.5"you might prefer posting at the "Official Short Scale Bass Club" thread instead... Just kidding guys, you may post about your 30+" or 30.75" Alembic Stanley Clarke basses here too
Personally, I see no point in discussing if 31" should be considered short or medium scale and some guys could say 33" should be considered long scale...
I find a noticeable difference while playing my 33 inch vs. 34" basses, but then again feel free to express your thoughts on the subject.
I'll start this thread by posting pics of my first 33 incher, a Nordstrand SC-5 !!!! |

Ibanez MC980 32"
Westone Dynasty 31.5"
Kramer XL7 31.5"
FBB custom 32"
Dolan custom 32"
...But I'm not in the club at this time. I intend to get another medium-scale at some time, but I'm trying right now to avoid "gambling" with fully-custom designs, and there are not so many factory-stock ones to choose from. I'm keeping my eyes (and options) open though. |

How do you guys do or prepare a pic (size, resolution, format, etc) so it can be viewed at TB's biggest possible size? |

If that is still too large for attaching directly on TB, then I would reduce the size further until it's within the stated px or KB limits. Personally I prefer to host my own images though. |

Much better quality and sound than most people expect, with excellent sustain. Luthite solid body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 2 Mighty Mite humbuckers, very solid bridge. It is quite heavy for its size. Currently strung with GHS roundwounds. I'm not sure if it's a '97 or '98. |

Seriously, I've found most Rics have meaty necks that don't help much, IMHO Rics don't feel medium scale at all
