| | | | Is the distance from the bridge to the neckjoint the same on the SX Jazz and the Gypsy Rose? |

I may still get one of those medium scale CAR Jazz basses. Those look hot, as does the black. |

Gil | Hey Gil,
It's hard to say bc I changed them out quickly and modded the headstock too. In general the ultralites tend to weigh less and I've never had neck dive. Hope that helps. |

I just got the SX 32" a couple of days ago, love the sound and out of the box pretty nice overall. I wish the neck on this was a little thinner but one can get used to that, what bugs me a little is the neck weight, I play sitting (just a hobby for me) and I find myself holding the body with my forearm to keep it from diving.
I removed one of the tuners just to check the weight and I estimate all 4 of them to be about 9 ounces, the ultralites and some "wood removal" from the headstock should cure some of the neck dive.
I just came across your fret job and headstock mod link, came out real nice! |

If you have an extra $100, I'd recommend picking up the Gypsy Rose too. I also do not like the neck of the SX very much. The neck on the Gypsy is wide and has a nice satin finish. On the other hand, you may wish to defeminize it and change out the electronics. Mine didn't work at all when it arrived. Enjoy! |

Hey ebonalley, have you posted clips of the Muckelroy somewhere? Looks amazing, btw.

Sorry if this tosses a wrench in the list, but I just noticed I have two numbers. (70, 78)
