Glad you're still playing.

I'm really enjoying the medium scale on my Ibanez AEB5E. Just got it for Christmas, so I'm a ways away from purchasing another bass. Maybe someday the Warwick will replace my current Squier 5er.
Sigh..
EDIT: Just looked around on Musician's Friend. What I don't understand is how the Warwick Rock Bass Corvette Basic Passive 5-String (which is 34" scale) costs just $575. If Warwick brings the price down on the Medium Scale, that would be nifty. I bet a set of balanced-tension (42lbs. set; tension would be different on Medium Scale) D'Addario XLs with the .145 B would be killer on that bass!

Maybe someday a major-name manufacturer will produce a medium scale five string that a regular guy can afford. I figure if list is whats on the tag, then they might be had for a grand or so.
It's probably a solid bass though.
I'm torn. |

| | The Sound of Wood! Warwick & Framus Social Media | | | | My apologies to you all! The spec sheet pictured is priced incorrectly, a mis-print by the people who made up the cards. The info sheets were done last minute because our regular info placards didn't make it by show time. The correct RETAIL price is $1099, with about 40% off for street price.
You can see the US Pricelist here: http://www.warwick.de/media/prices/Rockbass_USA.pdf
Thanks! Quote:

Thanks! | So roughly $650. That's much more doable!
Really impressed with your presence here on behalf of Warwick. A lot of other manufacturers should take notice. Thanks again!

I had an Aria Pro II back in the 80's that was a 32 and I loved the scale. Wasn't crazy about the pickup/tone, but I never forgot the playability and improved pitch focus over my "shorties" (Beatle, Hagstrom 8 and EBO). As I've grown older, the lighter weight (back issues) and shorter scale of the 32's had been callin' me for some time. I have been playing a Birdsong Corto Bass (31 in., 6 lbs) since 2005 to help reduce my addiction to Dano Longhorns (30 in, around 5-6 lbs) since the late 90's and play something a little closer to the ol' 34's I'd played for so many years.
Now I currently play the following 32's almost exclusively:
Warmoth Jazz style parts bass
Gretsch Electromatic g5123b
Tom Rodreguez Custom

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Aug 2002 Location: Richmond, VA | | | Just ordered a new Warmoth body for my 32 neck. I'm gonna remove it from the light ash J bass body (upper notes are just too thin no matter how I set the pickups or EQ) The new one is maple on mahogany routed for a P and a emg35. Hoping this will give me a more balanced sound with the slightly smaller G4 body style. I'm gonna drop a Joe Barden P and a Duncan 35 sized passive in there, slap on a Hipshot aluminum A style bridge and see what happens.

First of all - I just felt the euphoria of "love at first sight"
That thing is gorgeous! Look at the fretboard markers! Look at everything!
I look at that thing - and it screams - "grab me and play the hell out of me!" | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
