That's what I'm talking about. Guarding the gates of entry to Mikrofabalicity is a never-ending love/hate endeavour.

Possibly the last number to be issued to the Kingdom of MikroWorld is submitted for your approval. Let all bass amps produce a thunderous growl at 47 hz.

Check with a few sewing/fabric stores. You might find fabric-backed vinyl in purple. Then you can make purple covers for the speaker cabinets!

My son goes to K State, so most of his wardrobe would match your equipment.

I just slapped a set of these on the Mikro, and they sound most excellent.

That's my string of choice, too. Beautiful tone. I may try Rotosound 88's - but love these for the extra "zing".

I don't think you need the 88s. I think these babies are Perfect for this bass. What great tone I'm getting. Feels great, too.

Does anybody have a tape measure handy?

Finally found where I hid it to prevent me from leaving my recliner to work on the house.

Measurements with the mighty Mikro lying on it's back:

Total length: 39"
Body: 1 /58" thick x 12" across (top to bottom)
Neck at the body: 2 1/8" tall (from the floor)
Neck at the nut: 2 3/8" tall (from the floor)

Hope this helps. WW

Other than that it sounds great. I'm considering stringing it piccolo. It will make a great little practice bass that could also use a tiny amp if it's an octave up.

MX
Just to update: I put a set of D'Addario Piccolo strings on it and now it sounds great. The strings are intonated now with no other changes. Seems that they ship stock with the cheapest strings possible and they don't intonate or sound in tune across all frets very well.

Thanks, Wes! It looks like it will just squeak into an unused rifle case I have available. I'll assume the 5 string Mikro uses the same body.

Using the rifle case could cause problems, though, depending on where I take it. I once brought my Chapman Stick to work, in its case. The managers didn't call in a SWAT team, but they did approach me VERY cautiously to inquire about what I had in the case!

Your welcome howardcano. I did need to google what a chapman stick was . Pretty cool looking instrumant.

Since he just received one, you might ask MX21 (post #413) if the Mikro 5 has the same dimensions as the Mikro 4. WW

Sticks have an awesome bass sound. The first time most people saw or heard it was via Tony Levin on King Crimson's "Elephant Talk". Sadly, that was also probably the last time they saw or heard it.

They're a challenge to play due to the narrow string spacing, which is one reason I made my own 6 string version with wider spacing.

Folks get tired of telling every single one that comes on here and doesn't read through the thread that you have to cut one or two of the screws down and possibly the associated spring too. So I won't tell you either .
