OT - completely enjoying the 534. Thanks again for all the "congrats"... I was actually petrified the B string would be floppy, muddy, un-articulate (if that's even a word LOL) on a 34" because the 35" was just flat out insane but should have never doubted Mr. T's work... This thang is earthshaking... Happy Holidays my MTDers!

Of all the 5-strings I've ever owned. I still gas for a MTD535, I stupidly sold a few years ago.
It had an Alder body, "Clamshell" maple top. rosewood fingerboard.
The only 5-string i completely felt at home with.
Due to a left hand injury, i no longer play 35" scale basses.
But a custom 534 is in my future ?
USA MTD's are the bomb. |

Sent from my Desire HD using TalkBass.com | By "a little off" are you referring to the angle of the neck being kicked back a little? If so, it's not a problem. |

Originally Posted by tbone0813 That is what I was talking about. Thanks Vic. | Yeah, mine's the same way. I think that's just the way he makes them and cuts the neck pocket. Not an issue at all. In fact, I've seen much more significant angles on basses that have had their necks shimmed to lower action, which is also not a problem at all. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
