Really cool tune and the MTD sounds killer. Not what i would have expected honestly. My French is only grade 12, but great groove! Quote:

The bass was recorded direct and the track might be interesting for anyone who wants to hear that particular wood combo "in the mix". The growly nature of the bass' tone is especially evident towards the end of the track. http://banddegarage.telequebec.tv/vi...ter/123/kebeko |

The workmanship on this stuff is astounding. |

The workmanship on this stuff is astounding. | I thought the same for years and was lucky enough to find a used 535 on TB for a nearly palatable price last year.
It was fairly expensive, but the bass is incredible and worth every penny. They look even better in person and the necks are incredible.

After searching around for a while for a 434-24 and not finding one, I bit the bullet and ordered one. I'm being told it should be done this week.
It must be 434-24 month in Kingston, NY.
BTW, very nice looking bass. I'm not a huge fan of burl tops but that one works in every way.

For you 5 stringers out there, choice of nickel strings? Mine came with the MTD SS with a .135B. Gonna likley switch to nickels when these die and go down to a .130B. Just curious as to what y'all are strappin these bad boys with. Thx in advance!

The only thing is that they're not the easiest strings to find. Maybe some DR Sunbeams? |

Maybe some DR Sunbeams? | If he wants something comparable to the MTD strings, it should be Nickel LoRiders, not SunBeams. The SunBeams have the round core like the HiBeams, and they'll be a little more scooped sounding and feel slinkier. |

I now swear by Fodera nickels. They feel great, sound great, last longer than most and are surprisingly very competively priced. They are all i use now on my 535 and all other basses. Definitely worth a look!
Note: I am playing light strings for the first time in 25+ years (.040-.120) as well. I played a .130-.135 B for years. The .120 is great for me provided I don't downtuned below Ab.

K, it's between them and the DR LoRiders then...leaning towards the DR's just because they are easier to get for me locally and super curious as I have never played em. Thanks!
