I like those broncos, played one at the shop, used ones are a steal. Soon baby, soon...

Very Cool! I like the Rickenbacker shape body and the reversed neck with the tuners on the bottom.

How does she sound? Also, does the having a longer G string change the way it sounds?

I'm saving for a full scale (Carvin SB4000) but right now I play a '78 Fender Musicmaster and a 60's Baldwin Vibraslim Bass. Can I get a number?

Just post a photo of your short scale basses and you're in - number and all.

The red one is very cool and I would have considered getting the red one if they came with a red headstock. But then again, I'm a sucker for black basses.

I was torn... My guitarist wanted me to get the silver, but I was going with the black cause, let's face it, black looks cool, and goes with anything, and I do not currently have a black bass... but the red just kept saying "pick me..."

Honestly, I think all three look sharp, and you really can't go wrong with any... but that black sure looks sweet...

The Rick shaped body was the builder's idea but I wanted the reversed tuners as I'm always turning the "normal" ones the wrong way (plus it looks cool ).

I don't have it yet - it is supposed to arrive today but the hurricane may have delayed it's arrival .

The longer string is the "E" - another reason to reverse the headstock was to be able to use a long scale "E" as I like to run 40/55/75/105 on my short scales which means I need singles at least for the "E".

I can see your point about the humbucker location but I think it's going to sound cool the way it is.

Does your pickup selector switch have a 3 way switch so you can set it for the P or for the HB or for both pups? You could also change the vol pot to a concentric pot so that you could control the volume for each pup independently (if there's room for a concentric pot).

Roadkill, that's a super cool bass. I think I'd dig the HB position, just me. BTW, the builder should consider upgrading his photo studio, the linoleum is getting a bit tatty :-)

I'm hopin' . I want it fairly aggressive anyways - the "P" is for the mellow stuff.

Yes, it's a standard Gibson style 3-way. I might replace it with a balance pot but I generally like the "single pickup" sound whether a "P" or a humbucker depending on the music style .

Well, I think you've got it set up just the way you want it.

I really like those pickups and I'm interested to hear how they sound.

BTW, what kind of strings do you have on it?

I wanted to try GHS pressure wounds. I haven't in the past because you can't get anything but a light "E" in short scale . Gauges are 40/54/76/106, basically a standard short scale set but with a long scale 106 instead of the 96 .

I would like to join the club.

It looked great with the pick guard, but they had it off to tighten the master volume knob and I was floored. It is like in the movies when the girl takes off her glasses and lets her hair down and she is suddenly gorgeous.

Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird

PB.
(I got it for way less than on-line, go to your local shop, they may want to sell you something.)

My first short-scale. Wanted red but the shop in Brighton, England where I compared a number of basses only had black. Having tried it, I wanted to take it home after travelling 80 miles. Can I join please?
