INCREDIBLE WORK!!!!. | I've never used Kent for tech work. But I agree, his finishes are amazing. Going on 20+ years now, most of my tech work has been done by Gary Brawer and Danny Ransom at Real Guitars in SF. Gary can set up anything to play like a million bucks. Danny is the custom builder. Great guys. |

Just picked this up tonite. Anybody know if this takes short or medium scale strings. I need to get the rounds off it and put on some flats or tapes.

The strings on the bass don't look like short scale strings. Looks like medium or long scale light gauge but I could be wrong.
Here's some strings that look perfect for your bass. http://www.juststrings.com/lab-760fx-s.html

I have a set of the 50-100 made for the Hofner, and ordered a set of the La Bella Beatle Tapes today. Just see which one sounds and feels better. Probably going to use the other set on one of my Jag SS rebuilds.
(Friday). Restrung the Hofner with LaBella Beatle Bass Flats. It's like a whole new instrument. Just feels right. Can't plug it in, don't think the people in the apartment beside me or below me would be all that happy about it. But it'll get something of a workout tomorrow.

I was forever turning the tuners the wrong way on my "factory" basses - this one's "righty tighty" looking down . Also it allows me to use longscale "E" strings. I prefer a heavier "E" than most any shortscale set has. My normal "set" is something like 105/75/55/40 , these are GHS Pressurewounds 106/76/54/40

The body is Mahogany.
It's heavier than the SG model.
I bought the SG first then upgraded 2 days later to the LP Jr.
Glad I did!!

Cliff Bordwell is shipping my 32" 5 string on Monday; according to UPS charts, I'll get it the next day.
So I'm subscribed to this thread. I need to go back and read what strings you guys put on a short scale 5 string. Cliff told me what he puts on them, but I forgot. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
