New thread day. I just wanted to say to Steven that the last sound cloud clips had some great sounds coming out of that Skjold.

Still rockin' this one. Had it since November 2006 and it's still going STRONG.

And she has landed. Action is low and typical wicked fast Skjold neck profile. Very light (I measure just under 7.1 lbs). After playing nothing but 4-strings for quite some time it will take some adjustment - my brain is slow

Beautiful bass! Just use the fifth string as the ol' thumb rest that can play the occasional note method for a while.... Just kidding... Don't do that.

My New Baby!

Hello all!

A little backstory:
Early last year I put in an order with Pete for my "Dream Bass", which was to be an anniversary gift to myself for 25 years of playing. I had about 10 years to create a VERY, VERY specific vision of what that bass would look, sound and play like. Above everything else, it would be jaw-dropping and one-of-a-kind. Unique, if you will.

Well, yesterday was THE day. My Slayer arrived. I was beyond anxious to get it and Pete was beyond nervous...with relatively good reason - I AM A HARSH CRITIC and this bass was an intensive build. I didn't ask for much beyond absolute perfection.

No kidding, Pete called me 20 minutes after it arrived, joking that I had 15 minutes left to send 'er back if I was dissatisfied. Well, it was so hot outside and in the UPS truck, that I had not even taken it out of the box yet, as I was trying to let it acclimate to the temperature inside my house. We spoke, and at his suggestion, I unboxed it and unzipped the case, BUT I DID NOT OPEN IT - even though Pete was on pins and needles and I was pulling my hair out in anticipation, I let let it acclimate for a good hour before I got my first look.

Pete is now resting easy and sipping a Leine's!

The bass is flawless. The neck is THE best I have ever played...and I've played a whole bunch. In fact, after an hour of playing through my rig today, (I promised to call him after I plugged her in) I queried Pete about taking in my PSD '92 and modifying the neck to make it as close to my new Slayer as possible.

What can I say...words don't do this instrument justice. "Perfect" is such an understatement.

Up the IRONS, Pete! THIS IS MY DREAM BASS.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Sincerely, Jamie Mac - HEDDA

Awesome story, and an awesome bass. And completely what I have come to expect from Pete. Grats, and happy anniversary!

Took my Skjold to the Independence day party we played today. Man, it was HOOKED UP (as usual ). The rig was a GK MB800 with a couple of their 112 Neo cabs.

This party was on the lake where they shoot off the city's fireworks, and the Mayor was in attendance at the party. Since we had a PA, we were given the honors of doing the countdown to start the fireworks this year!
