I feel the same about mine, and it is 4 years old.

Mine is over 5 years old, Pro Series Deluxe #1. Yep. First build of a new model and Pete nailed it to the wall.

That one could be mine. Pete is using the traditional Skjold headstock.

It's a really awesome piece of burl maple I found years ago. Was originally going to use it on my Nordy, but I'm not really a big fan of traditional Fender style basses with very exotic tops, so I figured a Skjold would be a great match. I've really been wanting to get a Skjold ever since sharing a booth with Pete at NAMM. I know ordering custom basses can sometimes be hit or miss, but Pete seems to be really good at tailoring the bass to the customers needs. This one is going to be very cool. It has an alder body with an ash/purpleheart/ash neck with a pau ferro board. I told Pete I wanted a big, round low end with some good low mid booty to it, even mids and a bit of an aggressive bite up top, but without sounding overly bright. Pete's going to do a kinda of reddish '59 burst that I think is going to be awesome.

Biggest understatement in the custom bass world.
