I posted before, but I realized I didn't post a pic.

My SBMM Ray34CA. Original tort pickguard replaced with black by the previous owner, which is to my exact taste. Love this bass, I'm singing SBMM's praises to anyone who will listen. It's a really great quality instrument for a "budget" bass, frankly a solid instrument on its own merits without any "for the money" qualifiers.

EDIT: Oh yeah...number please?

Killer Demo...SBMM should do 'something' like this on their site...which has a 'coming soon' window...

That's simply one of the coolest basses i've ever seen. That tinted slim neck on black..wow.

Hey Brian,
many thanks for your response. The trick with the soldering bolt and wet TP worked very well. Even though my wife thought I had gone mad when I started with it!

Another question to great customer support: Will there be new 34/34 CA modells for 2013 (available for the EU market)?

After owning my honeyburst Ray35 for some time, I was heavily influenced to buy an EBMM SR5. I traded in two really great basses and received a black on black SR5 with a maple board. My Ray35 still gets more playing time. I am really looking forward to NAMM news. I can't wait to see what SBMM has been busy doing! I am planning another SBMM purchase, but I am waiting until that time before I buy. I'm very excited!

They will be made available to our International Distributors, but they don't place their orders until NAMM in January. Should they decide to add new models, you should see them hitting the EU around April.

I will announce all of our new models here on the forum in January just before the NAMM show. I will post pictures as well for everybody to see.

Yes, there is going to be one new color added to the Ray35 come January. I personally think it's going to be a hit. Classic and very cool. I'll release the name and pic just shortly before NAMM in January.

Brian,

Can I get a replacement black pickguard through your company for the RAY34? If not, does anyone know if a standard Stingray pickguard fits a RAY34.. holes lining up etc?

Thanks!

As far as I am informed it is slightly different. In Europe I was told to have it customized. There are a view offers on the web. You need to send the original/damaged PG in and they kind of scan and use it as a template. Costs about 55 € for a Ray 34 PG in pearl white.

Very cool!

Just remember, while new models/colors will be unveiled at NAMM in January, they won't be hitting dealer shelves until March or so.

Can you really wait that long???

Oh man I don't know if I can wait that long! I guess it depends on how much I like the color, Im almost ready to pull the trigger on the black ray35 and just get a tort pickguard (im not down with the black on black)
