Guitar Center website, they had a black friday sale 15% off any one item, got it for $625! If I wanted to get a maple neck , is that something I could order separately directly from SBMM?

Thanks so much! Be sure to 'like' us on Facebook also, we do giveaways and such on there quite often, and also some tech tips, etc.

Thanks again and enjoy your new baby!

I have been doing a SBMM reconnaissance. I have been looking at GC's used SBMMs and ebay almost daily. I am getting another one for sure but whether or not I buy new or used or Ray34 or SB14, or depending on what I see from SBMM at NAMM is the question. I find that I play my Ray35 more than any of my other basses.... including my EBMM SR5. I can't wait to buy another one. January can't come any slower! I'm glad that I'm in the U.S. and am able to grab them at a great price!

I have to say some of the best customer service I have every gotten was from SBMM. Pat Park took care of me like no other. Kudos to you SBMM owners to have such interaction here with them as well.

Check Pickguard Heaven. They make replacement pickguards for EBMM Stingray basses. I think the EBMM and SBMM pg's are the same size.

With mint green, I would go with a parchment or antique pearl. But that's just my opinion.

tony,

I'm not sure about Ray34s, but an SR5 pickguard doesn't fit a Ray35.

Wow! Really? I always thought that the two were practically identical minus a very minor difference here or there. How do the two guards differ?

Mike,

The knob spacing is apparently a little different. The fact there is a difference was confirmed by Chandler Pickguards and The Perfect Bass when I had my guard made back in early 2011. Here's a link which confirms this: http://www.theperfectbass.com/explor...&CR=Y&modify=0

According to that link, seems to be the whole SBMM line.

Here's mine with the Chandler guard - The Official Sterling by Music Man Owners Club

Well tickle my feet and stuff macaroni in my bellybutton! I never would have known that. Thanks for letting me know that Bob.

My Ray 34 ca 3TS w/ maple FB was just delivered yesterday. I picked it up new from my local GC. They are selling them for $599.00 and offering a $100.00 discount on any purchase of $499.00 or more, so my cost was $499.00+tax!
The bad news is I have to wait until Christmas to play it. I did open it and check it out and it is bad ass!

I'm glad you like it! I sold one of my prized Warwicks to fund the purchase of my Ray 35 in honeyburst. At first, I had wondered if I had made a major mistake. When my Ray 35 arrived and I had the opportunity to play it, I knew I had made the right decision. From that moment on I had become a true fan. My Ray 35 is my main bass and that is saying a lot because I also own a EBMM SR5. It is a great instrument with even greater customer service!

I owned 7 or 8 bass in my life and the only one that I'll never want to sell is my black Ray35.

It took me a few days to get used to the neck (been playing a Fender J bass before).

I wonder how is the Ray35 neck compared to a Fender P or a EBMM Stingray 5?

I played it for hours at GC before I bought it. I can't wait until Christmas day to rock this thing!!!
