Only thing to remember, is that a Sterling sounds different than a Stingray/Ray34. A Sterling has a more agressive, in your face sort of sound and is normally a little more nasal than a Stingray/Ray34.
This video by Ed Friedland gives a great comparison of the two types of bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Fo7AKwfA0
Once again, that's a great price!

So it engages the battery, but doesn't there have to be string vibration (a signal) for it to actually use the battery? It's in the state of ready to be used, but not actually draining power because there is no signal?

How long does the battery last?
All EMG pickups and EQ systems are designed for extremely low current drain. In addition, the pickup jack (TRS) included with all models has a switch that disconnects the battery when the guitar is not plugged in. To maximize battery life, you should always unplug your guitar when it’s not in use.
Under normal playing conditions, you would probably be looking at changing the battery twice a year. If you left your guitar plugged in day and night, the battery should still last a month. |

| | | | Hi! Does anybody know the color code of the SB14 pickup wiring? I'm seeing a cable with five wires coming from the pickup (I was kind of expecting to see six but there are only five). The wires are green, red, white, and two black ones. One of the black ones is slightly thicker than the other wires. Anybody know which wires go to which coils?
If I can determine that I have a crazy switching thing I'm going to try. If it is cool I'll post the results.
Thanks!! Dave |

| | | | Thanks! I've seen that thread and searched the internet far and wide with no luck. I also wrote a couple emails to the guys at Praxis with no response so far. What I am looking for is something that says something like "Red=neck coil North, Green=neck coil South, Black=bridge coil North, etc. . ." (or even better, a diagram). I actually found that info for the MM Sterling, but it's not exactly the same as the SB14. |

The Ray34 and 35 are just the 4 and 5 string versions of the Stingray. They sound pretty similiar, but the Ray35 has a 3-position switch for series/series+filter/parallel.
The SB14 is will have a different sound, it's more treble than the Ray34/35 with a neck more like a Jazz bass.

Good to be back on here after NAMM! We had a super crazy show, and debuted quite a few new models and colors. Brought many new dealers onboard with us, and overall had the most successful NAMM show in years.
Here is a picture of our new for 2013 Limited Edition color for Ray34 and Ray35, Translucent White Blonde.

The Ray34-TWB's are getting setup and ready to ship!
No photo can do these justice! The Ash bodies really come alive with this finish, and every one of them is unique.
