I got a 4 & 5 string Cirrus. Ill try to get pics up soon. But I have a small question. Are the neck and bridge pickups the same? Same part number?

As far I know they are the same. I've ordered plenty of Cirrus pickups and preamps. All they needed was the serial number for the instrument it's for so they know they get you the correct parts.

I've never been asked if it's for the neck or bridge, plus I've installed the pickups before in any order. The important thing is that you wire the neck to the neck part of the circuit board.

You can use ANY serial number as long as it's the same model.

Just scored on a hard case for my other Cirrus. Sweet, paid $50 for it and got the other one for free! So glad I didn't get a new one from Peavey for $289! Now both have a home.

I just picked up a Wenge topped Cirrus on eBay! Never played the wenge one before but the bubinga one I played I loved! I hope I like this bass ()()(). Also need to hunt down a hard case.

Yeah I think I will like it through my gallien Krueger. It should go well with my 88 NT Thumb bass too. She practically gave the cirrus to me!

Hey guys,

Need your help.

I've finally decided to see what all the fuss was about a Cirrus and have picked up a fretless 5-string that will arrive within a week or so. I'd like to order a set of strings, but am unsure as to which brand/model to get.

I was thinking of getting some pressurewounds, but those indicate 34" on the package. Does that mean that they won't work on a 35" bass? I really don't think that's the case, but thought I'd ask.

I really don't want any flatwounds, preferring a bit more of a brighter tone with more mwah. I really like the sound of the GSH Pressurewounds on my Carvin fretless so was thinking about going with them.

But...the Carvin has an ebony fretboard whereas the Cirrus' looks to be of some other wood. Not sure what the wood is, as I forgot to ask the seller. It looks like it could be Rosewood? Not sure.

It'd be great is I could get a few recommendations.

Thanks.

So much for 2013 being the year not buying and only selling. Damn!

Awesome ! Congrats on the fretless. I have heard that fret less Cirrus's are pretty rad.
Try SFARZO strings, DR's or Ernie Balls. All great strings and 35" scale.
Your fret board is Pao Ferro. It is a high end boutique wood that is like the champagne of rosewoods.
I think you will like the SFARZO nickel wounds. LONG lasting, sound you're looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion on the strings. I'll definitely look into them.

With the pao ferro fretboard, I can go with a round wound, so as long as it's not steel?

Thanks again.

Cheers

Hey Guys. In your opinion what can I expect from my wenge top cirrus? Tone wise I meAn? I play a lot of slap.

Also will a 5 string cirrus case be roughly the same size as a 4 string. Found one for 70 shipped

ilike

I have a 5er and a 4 and the 5 fits in the 4's case. I bet that guy wouldn't be able to ship the case from Oxford for less than $20. $70 is a good deal.

Quick Pic of my Cirrus that's coming.

QUESTION. Can I sand and re oil/wax the body? I have done this on several natural Warwicks with no problem. Is this similar?

Wenge, huh?

I wonder why I was told walnut and bubinga. Oh, well. I love the way it looks.

Must admit yours is quite nice, also!

No idea what it sounds like, though, as it just got shipped this morning from one coast to the other so I'm sure it'll be a week or so at the earliest before it comes in.

That makes 3 TB wenges travelling around right now - mine is about to hit the road from Ottawa Ontario to me. We should look into frequent flyer points....
