So my '98 Thumb Bolt On 5 showed up yesterday. One word - WOW. I owned an '02 Thumb Bolt On 5 a while back and sold it due to financial reasons. It was nothing compared to this model. Everything seems "right" about the '98. The thinner 100% Wenge neck, the crazy figured Ovangkol body, the sound, the weight - it's all delicious.

Also - I must say that NOTHING sounds like a Thumb. You either love it or hate it, and I absolutely adore it.

Edit: Forgot to mention: the previous owner had the bass strung E-C - weird! I got it and was very confused when I wasn't able to tune the 5th string to a B. Ordered up some 45-135 Black Label's which should be here soon!

Here are some photos which do the bass little justice.

Thanks. That's an awful Blackberry photo, too. The bass is much better looking in person.

I'm in (pics to come) with my $$ Corvette 4. I've had it for a few yrs now & it sometimes sits unused for long periods. But everytime I get it out again, it floors me. So good!
Does so many tones, & ALL of 'em great. Passive & active.

Yes, of course! For some reason it wasn't registering, thrown by the pickup combination. Great bass! Thanks for sharing.

LOL! Don't feel bad. I was signed to them for over a decade, and they were constantly coming out with stuff. I'd still be with them if they hadn't lied to me. Well, not Warwick, but Dana B. Goods.

Sorry to hear that Woodchuck...did you know we have a new distributor? US Music Corp is the distributor in the US now, and has been doing a fantastic job! Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Best regards,
