| | | | Regarding the serial # on Status by Washburn :
The serial was not assigned until after the bass was assembled and passed inspection. I'm assuming this was to maintain sequence of numbers in case an instrument didn't pass-it didn't get a number.
The numbers were on a little foil sticker behind the non headstock. I'm guessing a lot of folks removed the stickers or the glue let go. The bodies are not stamped. |

By the way, I think I have a line on a Dark Star, so the Force 8 MAY be going from FT to FS in the next day or two...or I might just keep it, actually.

What would the best set of strings be to put on for more acoustic playing? | String preference is really really subjective, kind of like asking what's the best thing to have for dinner. Round wound strings, generally speaking, are going to make a more audible tone when you aren't plugged in. If you are talking about an acoustic bass then there are strings specifically made for acoustic basses available pretty much at any music store. Hope that helps! |

I do remember hearing a story of Washburn having instruments made in Asia and then stamping them made in USA. Apparently the US government put a stop to it. Maybe there was some frantic document shredding one night........ |
