This club can be for ANY OLP, this includes Ernie Ball models, Spectors, Trabens, etc...
As founder of said club, I'll start it off:
Model: OLP MM2 Year: Unknown Means of Acquisition: MusicGoRound, Wilkes-Barre, PA Modifications: Dunlop StrapLoks, Seymour Duncan BassLine pickups, copper shielding, new nut. Now let's see some awesome OLPs!

| | | | How good are they? There's a used OLP 5-string Stingray at my neighborhood store that's kind of tempting me. |

So, from my experience, OLPs are nice. Mine is light and the feel of the neck is really nice (my twist not withstanding). Electronics are mediocre as far as I can tell. Play it before you buy it!

I love my TL sig. It's the best sounding bass I've owned and the neck is just perfect for my hands.

Only paid $150 brand new. but the neck warped after a few years and I had to convert it to a fretless. I kept it passive and it sounds great. OLP is either hit or miss, doesnt look like they had quality control on the wood |

| | | | What's The History on the 3 knobs? I posted on a different thread also. What's up? Mine seems to be 1 vol, and 2 (mysterious) tones. |

Master vol - Master tone - Series/parallel switch

| | | | So it is 1 vol and 2 tones !? It's just a little weird having a passive bass tone. Those pots are usually rollOFF not roll-ON. This bass has the natural headstock and has only one wire headed to the pickup. Thanks. |

| | | | Thanks, I'll try the knobs with that in mind. I thinking of adding an active 2band eq like the older stingrays, but I want to keep the totally passive option in case I want it. My sound man and I both am going back to passive settings. It's easier to work with. I hate having too many choices with knobs and selectors. My old passive P-J has turned into my number 1 bass (again). But the bridge humbucker gives me that dirty MM slap ala Talking Heads. If I can make it do "Sade" too, I might never put it down. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
