The neck through Yamaha looks pretty sweet, though. Is it active? Your preferred styles and what tones you're looking to get will probably generate more commentary.

Cheers,
Wallace

2. Yamaha is the most quality consistent manufacturer in the industry.
My vote for Yamaha.

| | Still rockin' | | Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Deep E Texas | | I'm a P guy, so I voted for Fender. I hurt my shoulder last week, and wanted to minimize schlepping, so at band practice today I borrowed the Ibanez bass that was already there. Not good. It sounded sort of OK, but the percussionist, who is used to the P cutting through loud and clear, complained she couldn't hear me, even with it turned 'way up. And the ergonomics were dreadful. My shoulder feels worse now than when I left to go play.
No thanks. I'll carry the P along, next time.

But I guess I know now. | I mean, it's used so it's possible that it's gutted and changed out to passive. Originally, it was active. With it being an older model, it may not have the separate battery box.
