Opinions on G&L Tribute M-2000 GTS?

Hey guys, what do you think of this bass to play some Metal? Give me your opinions

I like it better in White. Great guitars though. A lot of range in those pickups so it will be great for metal as much as anything can be.

I'd be willing to overlook the appearance of the bass due to the mahogany body. I can't personally vouch for the new pickups, but the old MFDs + 'hog body = monster tone.

Another thing, what do you think is the best bass for metal? I like crunchy voice, I want to hear the mids and treble, but I also want the lows serving as a "base". Fender Pecision, Jazz Bass or Jackson Basses like JS3 or CB-x?
