There's been a few threads on this. The guy tried for a straight up sale for 51 grand twice. I guess he gave up on that and opened it up to bidding.

I've posted the bass for the family. I perform onstage with Monk's son and have known him 20 years. All the information is there on the auction now.

I did start the bidding based on an offer that came to them from Japan, and I really don't know who that person is. It's up again, and has nineteen bids so far, and 5 days to go. Thankfully, I was given 11 more photos and worked on roughly 5 of them - so if nothing else, enjoy the new images....his cosmetic touches that worked, his sticker from france on the case....
