Which P-bass should I get

I really want a black with maple neck p bass but I can't decide between American or Mexican. I currently own a mim white with rosewood p-bass that I would be selling. I really like my MIM except that its not black with maple. Would I really notice a difference jumping to a American pbass?

What year is the MIM? I own a 2011 MIM and a 2011 MIA. The MIMis brighter, but more scooped. The MIA is still fairly bright, but has more emphasis on the mids.

How do you find the vintage frets and the 7.25 radius neck?

I would also get a new MIA. The MIM is a good instrument, don't get me wrong, but I think the 2008 and later MIAs are really great instruments that that era MIM can't even touch...

I just picked up my first P this weekend after I played it a couple weeks ago. This thing is sweet with a fast neck and great action, but the hand stained finish is whats great. It is what caught my eye and the picture really does no justice. It's the Honeyburst maple American special, you should play one in any color. $879 out the door, only thing is its rosewood neck but plays smoother than my jazz Marcus miller bass neck

Might be off topic, but I went to Best Buy the other day and they had a MIA P for sale at $850.
I guess they are closing them out, it sure makes it easy to buy American.
Wish I had the money to throw at it.

MIM. Try out as many as possible. The Am Std is overrated (trust me, I own one). The MIMs have their own sound. And its a good one.

I have a MIM P and it's nice, but it's not as nice as my MIA Jazz. If you can afford it get a MIA.

Well I just ordered the 2012 American Standard P-bass. Black with maple neck. Should be delivered to the store in two weeks. They gave me a bit of a deal at $1160.
Thanks for your help
