Is there a P Bass with a thinner neck out there or would I need someone to make me a custom bass? The thinner the neck the better for me. (Thin or flat radiused either one.) |

It's now the 44-64 Custom. They make it in both the US and Skyline series.
Basically it's a P bass with a J neck. I have one and love it.
If your reference to thin refers to thickness on the back side of the neck you could always have the neck
shaved.

| | | | The mark hoppus (of blink-182 fame) signature model is a fender jazz bass body and "maple neck with modern "C" shape and 1.625" nut width (wider than the 1.5" standard for Jazz Bass guitars)" with a p-bass pickup.
Also I believe that the peavey fury (the p-bass one) is supposed to have a very thin neck.

I put a Carvin neck on my Hoppus bass, and it's Uber good!

Fender:
Aerodyne Jazz Bass
MIM Deluxe Active P bass
Duff McKagan Sig
Reggie Hamilton Sig
and probably others I'm not thinking of.
Also look at G&L SB-2

I second G&L. The SB-1 was a lot of P for the bass. I dunno about the SB-2... it's a P/J with no tone control.
If you can find one (they're very rare) check out the G&L L-5000 - it's a 5-String SB-1 P-Bass.

The thinnest flattest neck possible would be great for me. Off to go look at some of the recommended basses. Keep up the helpful advice brother bass players. |

Jazz neck is okay, but I'd like something even thinner, but especially flatter. Someone above recommended getting the neck shaved. Never heard of this option before. Do all luthiers offer that as an option? |
