Here's a shot of my latest P5. It's a 35" scale 24 fret PJ 5 string. It's got Wilkins pups and a Seymour STK-3 custom, Hipshot tuners and bridge. It was a custom order for the Bass Exchange in Ca. No... the low B doesn't hang off the side of the neck. It's the angle of the shot. I didn't take this pic

Y'know... a P5 (in CAOJ/tort - mmmmm) would make a nice addition to the Roadtested line. Just sayin'...

What I'd love is a 58 style with the old burst, gold anodized pickguard in ash maple. If anyone's got one I'd love to see it.

It has passive bypass but I never used it passive. Every setting sounds just like a P Bass, just better. The versatility is incredible, and every setting is musical. There is a video on youtube where a guy goes through all the tones and compares the passive. I'm not much of a passive guy in general, so take that for what its worth.....

It does have the BWB pickguard and is stunning, in fact much more so than I expected. No photo yet, but y'all know what it looks like. The S/N is US10225071.
The neck is phenominal, in fact this may be the best neck on a five I've ever played, sort of a cross between Sadowsky and Lakland, but closer to the Sadowsky which I like because it is a little beefier, so it may not move around as much as the Lakkie does. Sleek but substantial is how I would describe it. It was professionally set up by the Atlanta Bass Gallery and it shows, awesome playability.
I can't wait to try it through my Markbass, but it sounds good thrugh my home mini-rig. It is wearing Sadowsky stainless strings, I'll hold off on changing them at this time, but may want to put GHS precisions on them at some point, but these strings feel awesome, great tension. And the B string is fabulous, great tension, focus and tone, which is why I may stick with the Sadowsky strings (or get a pair of their flats or nickels), I would hate to change what I'm getting from the B. Oh, and the open strings sound great, not much difference between open and fretted notes.
I've wanted one for a long time, and wish I had got one sooner. I'm very happy with this bass, this is the first bass I've bought in a LONG TIME I don't immediately want to make some change to, however minor. It does have a GraphTech nut and orange capacitor. I am looking forward to major time with this beauty!

And I'm pretty sure the Fender 5'er necks all have the same dimensions.
