Peavey Cirrus: How do I tell if it's USA or Imported?

Hi guys,

I found a local Peavey Cirrus for sale and would like to see it. How do I tell if I'm looking at a USA made model?

Do all imported models have a BXP label somewhere? Anything else to look for?

There are 2 easy and sure fire ways to see if a Cirrus is imported:

1. US-made Cirrus' have the serial number stamped directly into the wood on the back of the headstock

2. The US-made Cirrus' have a different bridge than the import models:

US -

Import -

Note: US bolt-on Cirrus' have the individual finger style bridge like the imports. But I don't believe any Cirrus import has a bolt on neck.

Are you sure? I've never seen one. All the US Cirrus' I've ever seen have a standard 1 piece bridge.

I'm pretty sure the US bolt-on models have the finger style bridges and Millennium pre-amps.

Here's a US bolt-on that was for sale in the TB classifieds. Superb photos.

Thanks for the tips. The one I found has a neck through design.

All the US models I've seen have a black (front) headstock, the BXP imports have coloring to match the body. This may or may not be 100% true, if someone knows of an exception, please chime in...

Send an email to Peavey. I had the address but unfortunatley my email is Verizon and they lost it.

Does anyone else have verizon? Do you seem to have just too many problems with it?
