Value-wise, you'd have a heck of a time finding a better bass for that price. Market-wise, it's on the high side. I paid that much for my first Mill 5 standard, and don't regret it. If you can, play it, and if you like it, try talking him down a bit. Oherwise, ask yourself if you're willing to pay that much. I was, and you might too!

That's more than they usually go for but that's one gorgeous Mill! I've never seen a Millennium with a top matched as well as that! I might be willing to pay that much for it if you really like it and think you're going to keep it. Know, though, that if you ever choose to sell you probably won't get that much for it.

I'm back! I just bought this and should be able to play it sometime week after next. The guy I bought it from is on vacation and won't be able to ship it out until the 13th.

I used to own one just like this and sold it in a search for "tone" or 4-string/5-string indecision, or something stupid like that (I can't really remember). I won't be selling this one. After all of the basses I've played and tried this is the best combination of features, pickups, preamp, and price I'm probably ever going to find. Plus, this one weighs between 8 and 8.5 lbs, which makes my back happy. Comes in a molded Peavey HSC shipped for $390! TI flats on the way as well.

What took me so long to get a Millennium? It's an amazing bass, and everyone who picks it up and plays it falls in love with it. The bassist in my son's band has been using it at practice here at the house, and I know he's getting up the nerve to ask to play it at their gig on Saturday night. Of course, I'll say yes.

This will be the fifth(!) one I've owned and I won't be letting it go. I think I'll have to start saving to get myself a Mill5+ so I have a 4-string J/J and a 5-string MM/J.

Here are mine

The 4-string black and maple is the second bass I ever bought (the first was an SX Jazz) and my #1 since that day.

The 5-string is waiting for the bass fairy to give me the talent to do her justice. Birdseye, abalone, matching headstock, transgreen finish - it is the brother of PDQ's blue bombshell.

The P/J is the odd 34" scale passive US-made Millennium STD (STD? Who names basses after embarrassing diseases? Is anyone awake in the Peavey Marketing Department? Anyone?)

You're a good man. That kid will be thrilled.

I lent my 5-string to my horn player's nephew who was taking a summer session at Berklee and needed a bass (he was flying in from overseas so he prefered not to bring his own - don't blame him) The nice thing is that they look like they are worth 2 or 3 times what we pay for them; but since they are pretty affordable, it is easier to play them in any venue or to lend them out to aspiring bassists.

Very cool. I bet he was thrilled.

At the end of the day, they're just basses.

Here's a video of my sons' band from Friday night.
My 19 year old is the singer, and my 14 year old is on drums. He breaks a stick at 1:35, but makes a pretty nice recovery.

Their bassist used my US Millennium for most of the night, and switched to my Koa Dyna Unity for a couple. Nice to see someone else using it and it getting some stage time.

You sure could. I'm really enjoying how E - G strings sound at 35" scale, but it would work just fine to string it BEAD.

Longshot here. Does anyone happen to have a spare Millennium preamp they would like to part with? I have a Cirrus that I would like to do the preamp upgrade. Thanks
