Sweet! I toured with a TL-Five in the mid 90's and ended up having to sell it to help with the funds to move to the west coast. I swore I would get one again one day and did just a few months ago. A 1st gen in transparent black. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!!

I was close to buying a "well used" TL-6 last year but the price was a little rich for me. After biting the bullet and wanting it i saw it was sold. Kind of regret it now. Very underrated basses.

I am kind of a fan of the TL-6 myself

I've had a TL-5 about ten months now and thought letting it go, but thank God I came to my senses! My TL-5 is the best bass I have owned since my old Ken Smith.

I have rediscovered my TL-5 after sitting under my bed for 8 years. Of course I detuned it way back. I just tuned to 440 and was off and running with a new 9volt - BTW: I love my Peavey strings they have been on the bass since 1998 and still sound incredible - Pushing it through a Carvin B-2000 and SWR Goliath 610 with that tweeter junk defeated - I'm telling you what. I have played all the boutique stuff and still favor this bass. I only wish it was a lil more chunky on the barrell like the precision....

Incredible craftsmanship as you know the necks on these basses are cut on a gun lathe with ebony board - with case I paid $799 new:hiding

Peavey has always made nice basses. There's one thing that cause people to turn their nose up to them. It's says "Peavey" on it.

My first bass is a Unity 4. I still have it, 22 years later.

I need another 5er for my modern country band to partner up with my 20 YO Carvin and a TL-5 is exactly what I'm going to be looking for.
2 JUST sold in the classifieds but one of my hoped-for cash sources didnt pan out so I have to bide my time for the short run.

But seriously-is this the MOTHER of all zombie threads? it was started in 2000!!!

I've had my TL-5 over a year now, and it is my go to bass and will be for the foreseeable future.
