Wink re: http://www.youtube.com/user/BassGear.../0/1D6diix3lpQ

So what we need is a deaf bassist w/good lip-reading skill, right? Doubtless many of us have some of those qualifications, but perhaps not all of them...

I'm going to see Mike on Tuesday about refinishing my T-Bass (am I not lucky to live in MA?!); shalll I ask for a transcription?

Keep on pluckin'

Funny you should say that. I did a story on The Coalition For Disabled Musicians arounf ten years ago. All of its members had some kind of disabilty. I went to see some of the members play at a rehearsal space and the singer was in a wheelchair, I think with MS...keyboard player was deaf and used a computer and heavy bass in a monitor to follow the charts and rhythm. Bass player that day wasn't deaf but had a special brace to hold the bass up...a woman with some sort of spinal/arm muscle/nerve injury. I don't recall the rest of them but, man, was that ever inspiring. They were actually pretty good. It made me think about how hard it is to keep a band together with members who are healthy. I can't imagine the determination they must all have to get it to work with every member disabled in some way. They told me that one of the major disadvantages is that their members tend to die on a regular basis due to their health issues, so they have a regular turnover of members.

But.....back to the Pedulla stuff!!

Recently shot a new pic of my two MVP-8 basses, along with two equally rare 8-strings....Veillette-Citrons from 1979-80. Very similar necks and weights on the Pedullas and VC's.

I have to apologize for the lack of audio on that Pedulla video. Some over-tired editor forgot to turn on the condenser mic...

With that in mind, we deleted the video.

But let me tell you folks, that new Nuance model is just fantastic, and yet another sweet option for getting Pedulla tone and quality in your hands.

Tom.

Alright it finally came in last night! I just can't believe this bass. I have played several raptures before but none with this nut width and it is just great. I am going to have to spend a few weeks paying close attention to my right hand muting and such but it is such a comfertable thin wide neck that it is going to greatly improve my overall playing.

This has a Suhr 3 band in that is SUPER sensative! Just a little boost/cut provides the right amount leaving plenty left over for odd rooms etc. I'm really glad to have a mid control as well but I think it set at a little higher frequency that I would like. Crystal clear though while still being able to get that nice dark bart sound. It's so easy to make this go from smooth jazz tone, to nice growl and over to a bright pop/slap without touching eq!

The balance and weight of this thing is also amazing! At first my strap was too low and I got a bit of neck dive, but once I moved it up a bit that went away no problem. Sitting is just plain nice. No need to support everything while tweaking the computer or whatever.

The fit and finish on this 10 year old bass is top notch. Better than the one I almost bought at GC (why do they f*k up their bass so bad). This thing is essentially brand new! The only indicator that it isn't brand new is slight fret wear. No buckle rash, pickgaurd swirl or even discoloration on the pickups from thumb rest!

I will get some sound clips up soon so you can here this crystal clear preamp! SO happy to be here!!!!!!!

How are these M.V.P basses? I know they get a really nice high end tone (doug johns, I love his tone!), but are they versatile?

Is the high end thing the only tone you get out of these?

How is the neck? egronomics? weight?

I'm really interested in the M.V.P. series. Sound clips would be amazing! ( Ive seen most of doug's stuff on youtube)

I don't expect a super j-bass tone, but I'm just curious!

Does this one count? It may say Tobias, but it was built by Mike Pedulla who made 110 of these Model T basses for Mike Tobias back around 1990-91.

Awesome! This is my first bass with high end Bartolini electronics in it. I love the sound. The mid selector switch is great! Allows you to pick the mid center. I am not sure the actual frequencies, but it sound like you select hi-mid/mid-mid/low-mid, then boost/cut them via the knob.

As far a the bass itself, it is my first Tobias (dare I say Pedulla). Up until now most of my basses were jazz style. I have that area covered with my two Sadowsky basses. This bass is all together different. It has a very warm yet punchy tone to it. Very pleased!

I play techrock and my mvp fits in perfectly. As it's been said, I think the neck is so easy to play it makes me play better.

I have no sound samples, but a few tracks on my band's myspace were recorded with my mvp: VUELA VUELA, SIMON, KEBRILA, FM WISKARDO.

The only thing I'd want on mine is a passive/active switch.

I’m considering adding a fretless to my arsenal. Can any of you Buzz guys tell me, is there a lot of difference in the sound between the soapbars and P/J pick ups?

I've actually never played a buzz, but i've definitely seen WAY more in the PJ configuration, and I know that's what Pedulla recommends. I'm sure both would sound great though.

I love Pedulla basses.. I had a few 5 strings from 1988-89 and a buzz.. They all have the best and most comfy feeling necks that i have ever played...
