I recently came across this bass on CL and was wondering what you guys thought was a fair price.
Some interesting things that make it a little unique (as far as i can tell) from regular Buzz's.
It only has 3 knobs, EMG pickups, no figured top (or at least it is covered up) and a solid, non transparent black finish, and gold hardware.
According to the serial number he gave me it is from 1992. It also has the "M.V. Pedulla Guitars" logo on the headstock and what appeares to be "deluxe USA" on the truss cover.
There are definitely some small nicks and dings in the finish.
Is this a true Penta buzz or something that preceded it?
From what i have been able to tell most instruments like it have been going for around $800. He has it listed much higher than that and is comparing the price to the list prices of new Penatbuzz's which is obviously not accurate.

A Buzz in this condition would go for at least double the figure you quoted.

I was just having a hard time finding Buzz's with that 3 knob/EMG setup... and also Buzz's that didn't have a figured top and translucent finish |

It looks like it has the most recent bridge (ABM?) instead of the Schaller I think they used in the early '90s.
Is that wear along the top edge of the bass, or just a reflection? How is the wear on the fingerboard? As always when checking out a used Pedulla, be absolutely certain that the truss rod is fully functional and the truss rod nut isn't stripped! Pedullas use a 4-sided nut that's easily stripped with hex wrench tools. |

I haven''t seen it in person yet so not sure about the truss. I havent had a close up on the fingerboard yet but based on one of the other pics he sent me there looks to be a decent amount of FB wear. |
