How would you characterise the tone?
Any other thoughts or insights would be welcome. |

Was looking at the website, they ask for serious dollars - so maybe a 1989 model for GBP 500 might be a good deal? |

| | | | I've owned one from a long time, bought new in the late 80s. Through-neck, Ebony fretboard, Bartolini P/J pickup configuration. A joy to play and a rich, complex tone with awesome sustain. Probably my best bass overall, though I rarely take it out - it just feels so fine and fragile compared to my Steinberger. I payed about $1500 for mine back in the day. New Pedullas go for easily twice that now. If you can find one in good condition for under a grand, grab it.

P, Jazz, Ray or Rick... |

| | | | I've never played one, but I'd love to. I've read many great things about them here, with precious little negativity. If it helps, Gene Simmons had two that he used for years (though his must have been customs as they has only single p pickups). He always sounded great with them. |

P, Jazz, Ray or Rick... | It sounds like a through-neck, hard-wood bass with P/ Js. Which to say, not exactly like any of the above. Probably closer to Jazz/Rick than to Precision/Stingray.

500 quid is a STEAL. You could easily sell it for twice that if you didn't like it.
