Pickguard for Peavey Millennium ?

So I picked this Milly up last week for a bargain price. My dilemma is I'm not really found of the gold sparkle paint. The bass it self doesn't have mark on it and is in Pristine Condition. Boils down to love the bass, color not so much. So I seen a few MM/J Laklands with a similar shaped pickguard. I'm thinking the black PG could help me at over the gold. What do you think? Better ideas?

I did the same for my GV! I went for more of a Modulus vibe, due to the neck, and made a guard similar to the Flea bass. I'm still tweaking the cardstock version, but plan on getting a real one made soon enough.

It'd likely be more than you paid for the Mill, but you could get it refinished.

Btw, that is black construction paper on there now. It was just to get an idea.
