Well 16 years of practice and gigging will do that, Though to be honest, it's more of a genre thing, I started off playing Roots and Dub, and now play more melodic Jazz, and Neo Soul. I still have the P-bass, and use it as much as possible.

Jazz gig, March 2012 with my all other than original J'78. (Original from neck up. Chambered ash body with flamed birch top and Dutch Q-Tuner pickups and OLD Badass II bridge...)

Country gig at a festival, summer of 2011, playing my (former) P'06, hand on bridge, downstrokes with thumb. Thump, thump...

What an excellent thread!

Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center, playing a MIA Deluxe P that I sold because I'm really a passive guy at heart, ha.

Another Folklife gig, playing the Road Worn Jazz.

The blues band at a Harley owners group private party. Fun crowd! Playing my Nash '57 P.

Playing R&B on my '60th Anniversary P strung with LaBella flats. A thumpin' machine it is.

The sequel to post #208:

The new, as-yet-unnamed USA G&L JB-2 (the Tribby in #208 is for sale, BTW):

...and the new beater, a SBMM Ray4 (sayonara, Peavey; you aggravated tendonitis, in the right thumb; the reason is clearly visible in my prior post):

The beard was for the Halloween gig, and I was a convincing Lincoln, according to the feedback.
