All of these are at the only venue my progressive metal band (Crown of Life, full length album available for free: http://crownoflife.bandcamp.com/) gets regular gigs at...and they go in reverse chronological order.

Me and Rick. I was visiting London during Olympic Games, so I had to visit Denmark Str.

Pity, Rick had to stay in London ...

Maybe I'll get some more pics soon, with my proper bass guitar

I prefer to be pretty close, and, on the high hat side so I can see and hear what he's doing a little better.

ymmv, obviously, and that's just my personal pref!!!!
I agree, but it doesn't always work out. I once played (actually 3 times) at a place where the space for the band was very small. It was also right next to the walk in refrigerator. Not only did I have to turn every time they went in or out of it so my neck wasn't in the way, but the drummer had to set up on top of it, ten feet in the air. I not only had no eye contact with him, but couldn't hear the kick drum. It was quite an adventure playing there. In between sets I almost always had someone ask me why we had prerecorded drums, since they didn't notice the drummer. I would just point up.

I earned my $80 those nights.

Thank you. I play in a few different bands but that particular band plays everything from Roger Miller to The Foo Fighters. Tunes like Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers by ZZ Top to My Own Worst Enemy by Lit.

The black Ric has Rotosound rounds and the Fireglo has LaBella flats.
