I just finished a new case. I bought an Ibanez TR500 Expressionist without a case and after looking at all the generic one size fits all cases decided to build my own. I really would like to see examples from other members who have built there own cases. So I thought I would start a thread. Here are some pictures of my TR 500 case build. http://s1334.photobucket.com/user/rn...829a0.jpg.html
any suggestions or tips would be cool. Also If you have built your own lets see some pictures.
1, I used Luan panels attached to poplar sides then wrapped the whole thing in a psychedelic upholstery fabric.
2,Then used foam board and memory foam cut to fit my bass body.
3, light plastic sheets were used make internal compartments.
4,I then covered the inside with crushed velvet.
I have done a few of these now. One wrapped in tolex one natural wood and now this one. Fabrics all have there own personality. Tolex and upholstery fabric pretty easy to work with. The crushed velvet looks very cool inside but what a giant pain to install very unforgiving. I plan on trying a few more of these but unless I learn some new tricks will probable switch liner material. Maybe plush fabric.
When I track down the photos I will show my last build that was for my Ibanez Black Eagle.
