It looks like thunderbird pickups. Cool you get a t-bird tone without the neck dive. I think I want to build a 5 string frankensteined version of that bass. |

Shockingly enough, I never saw him play this when I saw them last month in Greensboro. |

There was a very long and heated thread about this at the time. The very last post should answer your question http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/hal...7/index11.html |

ROCK ON BRO! |
Does anyone know what pedals Pino is using for the Quadrophenia tour? You can see a board in front of him during a few shots in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsapezTsTaQ from the 12-12-12 concert. I'm also about 90% sure I'm hearing a bit of octave starting around 10:20. A picture of the board would be most helpful. |
It seems that Pino may be using an Ashdown Octaver, but according to their website the pedal is no longer in production. |
hey REMBRO! YOU ARE YELLING! YOU JUST WOKE THE BABYYYYY!!!!:( GRRRRRRRR,..... |
I never realized how enormous his hands are. |

You can see part of Pino's board (with the red and white ones), so he definitely has more than just an octave, but I can't identify the pedals. Any ideas what they may be? I'm quite curious as to what effects he'd be using with The Who, other than his ever present octave. http://twitter.com/BrandonK2/status/...607424/photo/1 |
I saw the Who last week here in Tulsa, and guess which bass Pino played throughout most of the show? Nope. Not the red Precision. He played one of these: ![]() And it sounded great. That guy could probably play just about any bass and make it sound great. |
Pino is playing a Jaguar Bass with DR Black Beauty round wounds thru a Fender SuperBassman 300 with 8x10 cabinet. The other bass onstage is indeed his Fender signature P-Bass with Dr's and old T-Bird pickups like Entwhistle used to play for the Quadrophenia period. The PedalTrain pedalboard is simple- Snark tuner, Boss Octave and Fender channel switch, VoodooLab Pedal Power+. |
